"Leveraging SAP as the cornerstone of pervasive Business Intelligence"

Senior Vice President, Market Development and Enablement Intelligence Platform & NetWeaver Group SAP AG

As senior vice president of Market Development and Enablement within the Intelligence Platform and NetWeaver (IPNW) group at SAP, Nils is responsible for creating, producing, and launching cross-product bundles (such as SAP BusinessObjects Explorer). In this global role, he is charged with the strategy and execution of all go-to-market activities for these cross-products in order to achieve significant and sustainable run rates for each. With regional teams around the world, Nils also oversees all field-facing activities for product launches, ramp-ups, and beta programs – as well as customer adoption – of the entire portfolio of offerings within the IPNW group. With a centralized customer office in place – along with various customer- and partner-facing programs, knowledge platforms and forums – Nils provides a process-driven customer/partner feedback loop back into SAP. In addition, Nils is responsible for knowledge management and product documentation for the entire IPNW portfolio, for the purpose of field enablement and community/ecosystem engagement.

Nils has served in a number of senior management positions at SAP since 1997. Prior to his current role, he was Head of the Research and Development (R&D) Effectiveness Program, where he drove various programs and projects to significantly reduce ‘Time-to-Volume’ for SAP solutions as well as increase customer satisfaction for newly-developed products. He was also the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Product and Technology Unit (PTU) Industries organization where he was responsible for solution management and strategic direction for most of the established industries.

Nils began his professional career as a designer and project lead for a helicopter rotor system with the Atlas Aircraft Corporation of South Africa. Afterwards, he worked as a strategy and business process consultant for The Boston Consulting Group and Gemini Consulting. His experience there included project management for a pan-European SAP implementation in the high-tech industry and several re-engineering projects in the chemical and capital goods environments.

Nils holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Technical University in Berlin; a master's degree in aerodynamics from the Cranfield Institute of Technology in England; and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
