Along with an ambitious “convergence” strategy aimed at granting customers a coherent shopping-experience whatever the store format (hypermarket/supermarket/convenience stores), Carrefour decided to build an Enterprise, Customer-centric Data Warehouse.
Customers are enrolled in a single loyalty-program, their interactions with stores or the internet are tracked and analysed to create client segmentation as well as store-clusters , and this information is then used to address customers’ expectation in a better manner and create added business opportunity.
Carrefour IT teams are meanwhile coping with a steep functional and technical learning curve on Teradata environments.
